In addition to in-person therapy, I am offering teletherapy (also known as web therapy, Telehealth, virtual therapy, therapy over the web, or internet therapy). Teletherapy enables me to see clients who live throughout the United States via secure webcam. Online marriage or couples counseling is a great option for those who live in remote areas or otherwise cannot make it to my office. It is also an option when one or both members of a couple are traveling.
My rates for teletherapy are the same as in-person therapy. You can read more about my fees and insurance here.
I use a secure teletherapy service. All you need is a computer or smartphone and a high-speed internet connection. In order to join your teletherapy session, first log into the client portal at https://www.therapyportal.com/p/charlottesville/ (this link can also be found on our group website at cvillecbt.com and in your email appointment reminder). You will see a link to join the session on the main account page. It is important that you remember your portal password as you will need this in order to log into all of your teletherapy appointments. If you forgot your password, please contact us so we can send you a password reset via email. Be sure that you’re using an up-to-date web browser, such as the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. Please note that you cannot join telehealth sessions using Internet Explorer (we have a backup service that we use in these cases).
In addition to the Charlottesville and Albemarle areas, I have seen people from Abingdon, Arlington, Alexandria, Staunton, Chesapeake, Colonial Beach, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Harrisonburg, Leesburg, Lexington, Lynchburg, Newport News, Richmond, Roanoke, South Boston, and Woodbridge.
